After a new President of the Executive Board, the UvA will now also have a new Vice-President: current Vice-President Jan Lintsen will leave on 1 September.

Vice-President of the Executive Board Jan Lintsen will leave the UvA on 1 September. His two terms of four years each will then be over. The Hague-based executive search agency Chasse has now posted the vacancy (in Dutch). As early as next month, the list of candidates will be discussed with the application committee.

Jan Lintsen (62) studied public administration at the University of Twente and then worked for the government for almost thirty years, including at the then Ministry of Transport, Public Works & Water Management (now: Infrastructure & Water Management). He was chief director of finance, management & control there, among other things. Before transferring to the UvA in September 2017, he was a board member of The Hague University of Applied Sciences for four years.

The profile of Lintsen’ s successor is not much different from the current profile of the Vice-President, who takes care of the portfolios of finance and operations, ICT and ‘complex projects’ such as the large and complicated accommodation and housing projects of the UvA. Lintsen has expressed that he does not yet know what he will do after 1 September.
